There is no debtors’ prison any more and I now realize just how lucky I am that going to jail for debts has been stopped.  I think that I’d be under the jail and the key in another county if that system still in place. This situation was desperate and I was losing control of all aspects of my personal life. My wife was scared and we weren’t talking.  But, one day, she asked me why we didn’t just declare bankruptcy and get it over with and that made me realize that I need to get some debt help.  If bankruptcy is in my future, then I want to be sure how to do it properly.
