POS Components That Help Transact Better

February 29th, 2008 by admin

POS cash registers now come with magnetic stripe readers built into the system that are used for security purposes and for enabling transactions on cards. They help in interpreting data encoded on a magnetic stripe commonly found on credit and debit cards. The cards can be swiped directly on the POS cash register and this helps save time and space that would otherwise be required for placing a stand-alone card reader. Magnetic stripe cards come in two varieties, slurry applied cards and hot foil cards. Hot foil cards are generally of better quality and are believed to be more expensive than slurry applied cards.
