Mending Wounds

November 4th, 2009 by admin

I felt really bad when my friend broke his leg because it was kind of my fault.  So I wanted to make him feel better by sending him a thank you card and to sympathize with him but finding the best sympathy wording was really hard because I felt responsible.  So I went online to find a better way to say what I wanted.  I had found a website called My Thank You Site, with their help I was able to clear my mind and come up with a great thank you that was worded perfectly, my friend was so happy that I would do this, he had even forgiven me.

Sounds of the Guitar

November 3rd, 2009 by admin

I am really excited because I just learned how to play the guitar and now I am taking guitar capo instructions in order to get my instrument tuned correctly. I am aiming for a higher pitch sound and I am sure I can achieve that with a capo. Before I was using a makeshift one with a pencil but realized I should invest in a real capo. Hopefully these guidelines for it will help me use it correctly. The guitar is an awesome instrument and I can’t wait until I sync my singing with it. There’s nothing like an acoustic guitar and a voice full of soul.

Can you Improve with Vocal Lessons on DVD?

November 2nd, 2009 by admin

A lot of singers are looking for the best vocal lessons on DVD to help them sing better.  Even if you’ve been taking lessons from a coach, a DVD can be a great way to continue the process.  It’s going to usually take some consistency as a singer to improve all the time.  If you’re just taking lessons from a coach once or twice a week, but not putting in 20 minutes per day, you’re probably going to be really disappointed.  Some of the DVDs made by famous coaches, such as Brett Manning and Per Bristow are good for home lessons.  It’s also good to record yourself singing or you can record your practices in your house.  This helps you hear your true voice and not just what you imagine in your head.

Trainer Taught My Brother to Sing Deeper

October 28th, 2009 by admin

I was speaking to my brother about his singing career. He said he was having few issues as his voice seems to be changing, it seems higher-pitched he said. He mentioned he had been going to a singing instructor who was showing him how to sing deep. He said the biggest tips he has learned is strengthening his diaphragm and watching his posture which in turn has really deepened his voice. He has a bad habit of slouching because he is so tall! He sang for me and I was amazed at how much deeper his voice sounded, he hit notes I did not think he was capable of singing!

Things Have Hidden Meaning

September 23rd, 2009 by admin

I’m always fascinated by the things I learn when I poke around. A lot of things are actually a bit different than what we have become more familiar with. Take votive candle making, for example. Those are just any small decorative candle, right? Actually, votive candles stem from religious practices that require a prayer candle to be placed on the altar. They are used a lot in Catholicism. So, while you may like to sprinkle your home with these tiny bits of scented light, in reality, they have an awful lot of religious significance. Of course, that doesn’t mean you need to go to church to enjoy them. It’s okay to light on just to relax.

Design double bass

September 6th, 2009 by admin

In general there are two major approaches to the design outline shape of the double bass, these being the violin form, and the viol da gamba form. A third less common design called the busetto shape (and very rarely the guitar or pear shape) can also be found. The back of the instrument can vary from being a round, carved back similar to that of the violin, or a flat and angled back similar to the viol family. The double bass features many parts that are similar to members of the violin family including a bridge, f-holes, a tailpiece, a scroll and a sound post. Unlike the rest of the violin family, the double bass still reflects influence and can be considered partly derived from the viol family of instruments, in particular the violone, the bass member of the viol family.

Marriage restrictions 2

September 5th, 2009 by admin

Even though in some places marital relationships did not have to be officially registered, there have been countless restrictions placed on marriage by different societies throughout human history. Restrictions against polygamy and marrying within a particular group or race have been common. Many societies, even some with a cultural tradition of polygamy, recognize monogamy as the only valid form of marriage. Many societies have also adopted other restrictions on whom one can marry, such as prohibitions of marrying persons with the same surname, or persons with the same sacred animal. Societies have also at times required marriage from within a certain group. Anthropologists refer to these restrictions as endogamy. An example of such restrictions would be a requirement to marry someone from the same tribe.
