Calorie cycling

I had read about a weight loss technique called “calorie cycling” in the paper so I started Googling around trying to find more information about it. I ended up coming across this fatloss4idiots review. Does anyone know more about calorie cycling?

The approach seems to be that on some days you eat a lot of calories, on others you don’t eat much — and your metabolism begins to adapt and burn calories faster in order to compensate for the high-cal days. Even though you’re slipping a few low-cal days in there now and then, the metabolism doesn’t adjust quickly enough to compensate for those, so overall your calorie burn rate is high, but your consumption rate is low.
