Assistive listening devices (ALD) are Hearing Impaired Products that help people with hearing deficiencies cope up with everyday activities. An example is the hearing aid that is worn by hearing impaired people hooked up to the ear or even inserted into the ear canal. Other ALD hearing impaired products includes one on one communicators that includes microphones paired with a special headset and can also be incorporated with the hearing aid. The microphones are directional and can be focused on a specific person or area. This is great for listening to conversations or watching television. Other ALD devices include personal FM systems that use special transmitters directed towards the hearing aids.
