Sleep apnea is a dangerous sleeping disorder that usually goes undetected. This disorder causes an individual to stop breathing while they are sleeping. A person with sleep apnea may experience five or more of these episodes during each hour throughout a night.Sleep apnea is not always easy to diagnose, simply because most people are unaware that they have a sleeping disorder. Most individuals are not aware that they have sleep apnea due to the fact that when they are awake, they have no problems with their breathing. It often goes untreated for years.
