Firefighters are trained in the use of rescue equipment employed in various rescue situations such as extricating victims of automobile accidents. Some of these tools are Jaws of Life, air bags, hydraulic rams, cutting tools, and rope rescue equipment. They retrieve all this gear from the firefighter equipment locker. Firefighters are prepared and capable of working effectively in cooperation with firefighters from other departments when needed. Firefighters are ever ready, always willing to help their fellow man. Firefighters are tested on a variety of knots, riggings, and rope load limitations.
