Main fundamentals of a Solid Baseball Swing

September 17th, 2009 by admin

Having a strong baseball swing is really dependent on developing the necessary fundamentals to ensure success at the plate. Every little motion your body makes has to be control up until the point of contact. You must have a solid base that consists of a  balanced stance and stride. Your stride has to be used as a timing device that puts you in a ready position to attack the ball. At that point it is imperative that your weight is still on your back foot so that you’re ready to explode forward and through the ball with authority. Your hands have to remain back and loaded as well. When you pivot off of your back foot and commit to the ball, your body will basically unwind and it’s at that point that you’ll throw your hands toward the ball, making contact, and then following through hard. Remember to keep your shoulders level and your head on the ball. If you pull your front shoulder or head off of the ball too soon, you will not be as effective at the plate.
