Band Manager

November 4th, 2009 by admin

I promote rock banks and take care of everything like the management of each bands website, music recordings, forthcoming record releases, gigs and accounts. I have several bands on my books and needed a way to tie everything into a system where I can communicate and track progress.

However, no solution existed that was exactly for my line of work and the price tag of custom software development was highly expensive so I had given up hope until recently.

I visited a friend in Glasgow who owned an ice cream franchise who specialised in wild flavours like vanilla and chilli. He showed me a system that he used to manage all the different outlets and departments of his business. Within seconds he was able to see how the research department was coming along with new flavours and cost cutting techniques as well as look at each store and see their sales for today, the month and every other date combination you would expect.

It was a similar system as to what I always wanted for my bands but again it wasn’t exactly suitable for my business although some areas could be used. After some discussion I was informed about Project Server London who takes Microsoft Project Manager and customise it to my needs.
