Mobile phones and using them on the road

August 31st, 2009 by admin

It is now currently a criminal offence for a driver to use mobile phones or phone whilst they are driving as per The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2003. If you choose to use a mobile phone whilst driving and you are caught then you can expect to be liable for a £60 automatic fine as well as three penalty points on your license.

Of course, if you then cause an accident you can be rest assured that you will be facing far more serious consequences! The best way to use your phone while driving is to pull over but there are accessories such as in-car cradles and bluetooth headsets wthat allow legal mobile handset use while actually in motion.
