Welcome to the Buckfield Inn — where the kettle’s always on, the stories are older than the walls, and nobody’s ever really a stranger for long. Nestled in the heart of Kilmeena, just outside Westport, Co. Mayo, we’re surrounded by rolling countryside, big skies, and the kind of scenic beauty that makes you slow down whether you planned to or not.

Our story began in February 1927, when Thomas and Bridget Fitzgerald took over the Buckfield Inn and quietly set in motion nearly 100 years of hospitality.
Four generations later, we’re still doing what they did best: keeping the doors open, the welcome warm, and the pub at the centre of local life. The walls have heard a century of laughter, music, debate, celebrations, and the occasional tall tale — and they’re very good at keeping secrets.

Today, the Buckfield Inn is both a traditional pub and a cosy accommodation spot, a place where locals gather, travellers rest their heads, and everyone gets a taste of real Mayo hospitality.
